The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Islamabad on behalf of UNCG/UN-Pakistan mobilized NGOs, youth groups and students to arrange activities on Stand UP /Take Action against Poverty and Make Noise for the MDGs. More than 25,000 people took part in these activities from five provinces, 17 cities, districts and villages in?Pakistan, between 17 ?– 19 September 2010.

These activities included a gathering by the UN staff members, led by the UN Resident Coordinator , at the UN House Islamabad, special gatherings by the schools/ colleges and university students and teachers, debate sessions by the students, lighting the candles by the Millennium Candle campaign group , walks and awareness briefings on MDGs.
