Radio producers trained on Sustainable Development Goals

On World Radio Day (13 February), the UN Information Centre conducted a training session for producers of Radio Pakistan. Organized in collaboration with Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, the training aimed to familiarize radio journalists with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the work of UN agencies and programmes in Pakistan. The UN attached great importance to radio as a tool of reaching out to the public, said Vittorio Cammarota, Director of the UN Information Centre.

The workshop kicked off with the screening of short videos on Sustainable Development Goals and the UN’s work around the world. Later, representatives of UN agencies and programmes, including Food and Agriculture Organization, UNESCO and United Nation Resident Coordinator’s Office, gave individual briefing sessions to the participants and answered their questions.

The training ended with a lecture by Naveed Ahmad Chohan, Manager Programmes at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Academy.
