International Youth Day is 20 years old. This year, Youth Day highlights the theme of Transforming Education to make it more inclusive, accessible and relevant to today’s world.
Shafqat Amant Ali Khan’s SDGs song beautifully portrays role of Pakistani Youth as agent of change, who can play an active role in accelerating progress across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, be it poverty eradication, good health, gender equality, decent work and growth, reduced inequalities, action on climate or peaceful societies.
“Aurat mardon se kam tar naheen hy”- Gender equality is a fundamental human right. Providing women and girls with equal rights for decent work and representation in political and economic decision-making processes benefits economies and societies at large.
Obtaining a quality education is the foundation to creating sustainable development. Let’s watch how our youth is playing a role in eradicating poverty and hunger by providing educational opportunities to the underprivileged and out of school children.
Pakistan currently has the largest population of young people ever recorded in its history. Watch how our youth is Transforming education and translating their dreams of development and empowerment into reality.
Happy International Youth Day and Happy Independence Day 2019.
