United Nations: Partnering for people’s development for 70 years

To celebrate 70 years of the United Nations, the United Nations System in Pakistan is launching a major festival to celebrate the work of the United Nations and its partners. Between 12 – 22 October 2015,  “United Nations 70: Partnering for people’s development” will take place in several locations across Islamabad and Lahore and include events for young people, members of the public, as well as members of the government, diplomatic community and the media.

The programme will start with a photo exhibition at Lok Virsa about the work of the UN System in Pakistan called “Pakistani People and the United Nations.” The exhibition will be launched on 12 October, and the opening event will include live music as well as speeches from senior politicians.

Young people will take place in a number of fora on UN values and climate change, and on 14 October, the Hanbok Fashion Show Gala Dinner organised by the Republic of Korea, will be preceded by the Youth of the World Flags Parade. There will be on a number of panel discussion on key themes in the work of the United Nations.
